Three men have been charged with taking part in a Melbourne street brawl which left a man with serious head injuries.
The trio from Western Australia were charged on Friday, a day after the brawl broke out on Chapel Street around 1am Thursday.
A 30-year-old man - named only as Ben - was in a stable condition at the Alfred Hospital after he was punched and kicked during the fight.
"Ben is a loved partner to a wonderful woman and father to a beautiful son with another child on the way," said an online fundraising page, which had collected more than $7500.
The WA men, two aged 20 and one aged 22, were charged with a number of offences including affray, behave in a riotous manner, intentionally cause injury and unlawful assault.
They were bailed to appear in Melbourne Magistrates' Court on May 2.
