Hunt for three teenage girls caught on camera after suspicious fire lit in Victoria

Victoria Police are on the hunt for three girls who were filmed running away from a suspicious grassfire in Melbourne's west earlier this month.

Investigators believe the blaze was deliberately lit under the Roslyn Park Drive overpass in Melton West about 8.50pm on 3 January.

Police have now released CCTV footage of three young girls who were seen at the scene when the fire began to grow.

As the flames appear, the girls appear to sprint in the other direction.

No one was injured and no property damaged as a result of the fire, however it spread rapidly along the creek before being extinguished by fire crews.

The trio were last seen running away from the fire along the bike path near the creek.
