Teen boys rescued from cliff top west of Melbourne

Two teenagers have been rescued after being trapped for hours on a cliff west of Melbourne.

The two boys were pulled to safety early on Saturday evening near Bacchus Marsh after a frightening few hours trapped on the cliff.

A high angled rescue team from Ballarat was brought in and the two teenagers, aged 15 and 17, were harnessed and brought to safety.

They were in a group of five boys who were exploring the area.

After the two got stuck on the cliff the other three managed to climb to the top where they were able to ring authorities at around 3pm.

The rescue was also an anxious wait for their parents, who were there to greet them after paramedics gave the teens the all clear.
