The duo were then able to grab the quantity of cash and flee the store.
The 45-year-old worker wasn't set alight and was able to wash the petrol off.
While police arrived on the scene they were unable to apprehend the alleged offenders as they had already fled the area on foot.
Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen anyone running from the store shortly after midnight on Tuesday night.
