Gang of thieves attempt to run down mum, baby after stealing her car
Desperate thieves tried to run down a mother holding her baby moments after stealing her car in Melbourne's eastern suburbs.
It was a terrifying experience for a Templestowe woman put in a vulnerable position.
A security camera captured the moment she grabbed her one-year-old daughter and fled their home in fear after a gang of four men forced their way into her house.
The men then stole her car, driving it straight at her as they made their getaway.
One of the men has been described as being of Middle Eastern appearance and 185cm to 188cm tall with dark hair.
"It makes it a very fearful incident for the woman involved," Senior Constable Ben Hales of Victoria Police said.
"Not only has she got to deal with the loss of her property, but she's got the deal with the fact that she was put in danger and her daughter was put in danger at the same time."
Police believe the same gang has carried out at least three other burglaries over the past fortnight.
