'Next stop, get them off the train': Brawl breaks out on Melbourne train over share bikes

An ugly brawl has been filmed on a Melbourne train sparked by an argument over share bikes.

The fight erupted on a Hustbridge line train, reportedly near Melbourne Central on Friday about 6pm.

Video of the brawl, uploaded by resident Luke Bennie to Instagram, shows a group of young men with two share bikes sitting in a carriage as an older man begins arguing with them.

“What happens if the f****** train has to hit the brakes real quick?” he asks.

“And that bike goes flying?”

One of the group tells the bald man the bikes are being held securely and won’t roll down the carriage and hit anybody.

“You’re hanging onto it, are you?” the bald man asks. “Next stop, get those f****** off the train.”

The video cuts and a moment later the man is seen walking back.

“It’s common sense boys,” he says.

“F**** off!” one of the group with the bikes says.

The two exchange words and the man holding one of the bikes throws it aside, stands up and gets in the man's face.

The bald man then punches him in the head, sending him backwards. He lands a second blow before the other man strikes back.

A number of men then jump in to break up the fight before the video cuts again.
