Protesters in bodysuits storm Melbourne council demanding Australia Day ban be revoked
A group of activists have stormed a Melbourne council meeting with giant inflatable hands, bodysuits and megaphones to protest the changing of Australia Day.
Several protesters, called Patriot Blue, held signs criticising Moreland City Council on Wednesday after it became the third Victorian council to stop referring to January 26 as Australia Day.
Footage shows a number of councillors covering their ears in shock after the protesters started screaming over a megaphone.
"Yesterday was a day of resistance against those who so wish to change our culture and country," a Patriot Blue member wrote on Facebook after the protest.
"This is Moreland City Council receiving a reaction for committing treason against the Australian people, the very people they are meant to serve."

The group chanted "shame, Moreland, shame," as they held up inflatable hands and flags emblazoned with the Australian flag.
A professor speaking at the meeting appeared to be struggling with the noise from the megaphone and was seen with a coat draped over his head as he left.
Many others followed suit and left the room while the protesters continued chanting.
Greens Councillor Natalie Abboud took to Facebook after the incident, saying she was proud of the councillors.
"Men in Lycra won't stop us from hearing community submissions to the Draft Local Law tonight," she wrote.
"I hope I never have to see a professor with his hands over his ears again. Thank you all for your bravery and patience."
The group have threatened to target Darebin Council next.
