A man has been arrested as police investigate whether street racing was a factor in the death of a motorcyclist in Melbourne's east.
The rider died when he fell after his bike mounted a nature strip in Doncaster about 1.30pm on Sunday.
The bike, a red Ducati, then struck a pedestrian, who was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
A 24-year-old man was later arrested in Coburg and he is assisting investigators with their inquiries.
Crash investigators are appealing for any witnesses who saw the motorcycle or a blue Ford XR6 sedan before the crash to come forward.
