'Please come home': Fears growing for missing Melbourne schoolgirl

There are growing fears for a Melbourne schoolgirl who has not been seen since she left home on Friday morning.

Jodie Binks-Brown, 13, was last seen in Romsey on her way to school before she returned home to collect a few items and her bike.

Her heartbroken family has now made an emotional plea for her to come home.

"It's getting worse, every hour she's gone," Ms Brown told 7 News.

"There's a lot of not nice people out there, and that's a worry."

"My mind just went into overdrive, thinking of [what could have happened to Jodie]."

"Her whole family, extended family, friends, have been driving around hundreds of kilometres looking for her, day and night."

It is thought Jodie may have gone to meet estranged relatives in Kilmore or Seymour.

"Jodie please, we just want you to come home, we just want to know you’re safe and warm," her distraught auny, Tracy, told reporters.

The year 7 student was last seen wearing her school uniform including a navy blue T-shirt with red stripes, a navy blue rain coat with red stripes, navy blue tracksuit pants and white runners.
