A good Samaritan has been hit and killed by a car after crossing a road to help a driver in Victoria's east.
The 33-year-old Dandenong man was hit when crossing the Princes Highway at Fulham on Sunday to help a motorist on the opposite side of the road who had driven into a road work area.
Another man, who he was travelling with and believed to be the driver, also crossed the road at the same time but was not hit.
Paramedics were called to the scene about 5.30pm to treat the man who had severe head injuries but he died at the scene.
Police are investigating the fatality.
