Police hunt for man exposing himself to children in schoolyard

Melbourne primary school students have watched on in horror as a man unzipped his pants and performed a lewd act in the park beside their school.

The Coburn Primary students noticed the young man during lunchtime on February 23 when he began masturbating.

Dressed in black jeans and a grey hooded top, the man believed to be 18 to 20 years old exposed himself before the children ran to a nearby teacher in the schoolyard.

“The man hid behind a vehicle on Richard Road briefly, before realising that someone was in a nearby car watching him, and then left on foot towards Station Road,” Victoria Police said in a statement.

The offender is believed to have returned to the Blackwood Drive Recreational Reserve playground in Melton on March 1 and was captured on CCTV, which was released on Wednesday.

The vision shows an unidentified man walking towards the school, possibly with his hands down his pants, before turning and walking away.

Investigators have also released two digital face images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries, in the hope that someone may be able to identify him.
