Melbourne widow heartbroken by theft of dead husband's classic Holden

A 63-year-old widow was left devastated by the theft of her recently deceased husband's classic car from her Ringwood North home early Saturday morning.

The 1960 FB Holden sedan, was of great sentimental value to the woman, whose husband recently died.

Police said the vintage car was broken into while parked at the woman's Loughnan Road residence, just after midnight.

The thieves were able to remove the steering lock and drive the vehicle away.

It was described as light grey with a dark blue fin, and was last seen heading inbound on the Eastern Freeway about 12.20am on Saturday.

The car had personalised registration plates MYFB1 when it was stolen, but police said it is possible these could have since been removed or replaced.

A variety of 1950s memorabilia, including model FB Holden cars and a large Tigger toy, were also inside the car when it was stolen, which were gifts to the victim from her late husband.
