250 people in Melbourne nightclub brawl

A brawl involving up to 250 people in Melbourne has damaged a police car and left a woman with minor injuries.

The brawl happened outside a Carlton nightclub on Queensberry Street about 5.30am on Sunday.

Officers were forced to use pepper spray to control the crowd.

Four men and a woman were arrested and will be issued with penalty notices for riotous behaviour.

There was at least one woman injured in the melee.
