Award-winning film director opens up about cancer fight
Award-winning Australian film director Fred Schepisi has opened up for the first time publicly about his private battle with prostate cancer.
Fred flew from New York to have his prostate removed by Melbourne professor Tony Costello who pioneered robotic surgery.
Fred is now a regular at the Australian Centre for Prostate Cancer, the first dedicated men's health clinic.
Fred has gone public with his story because he wants to help other men facing similar journeys to be well informed when they are making life-saving decisions about their health.
The men's health clinic aims to give patients access to specialists who can offer the right advice within two weeks.
