Tram derails after crashing into truck
A tram has derailed after slamming into a truck loaded with beer kegs at Parkville in Melbourne's north.
The truck shed its load, with kegs of beer strewn across the road, after the accident on Flemington Road.
The truck driver and a tram passenger have been taken to hospital for minor injuries. It is understood five other passengers were assessed by paramedics.
Emergency services are on the scene.
There is likely to be traffic delays, with eastbound lanes closed as crews work to clear the debris.
A spokesperson for VicRoads said the road is not expected to reopen until 6.30pm.
Drivers have been advised to avoid the area and find an alternative route.
