"The purpose of all my photos is to capture the power of nature and convey it in a way that inspires someone to feel passionate and connected to the image," Lik said.

‘Phantom’ is a departure from Lik’s standard style where he takes photos of bright colours.

"Certain textures and contours found in nature lend themselves beautifully to black-and-white photography," he said.

Lik was born in Melbourne to Czech immigrants, and his love for photography grew from when he was a child.

When he was eight his parents brought him a Kodak Brownie camera and his lifelong passion for photography began.

In 1984, he moved to the USA, and became passionate about panoramic photography.

He has been awarded the title of master photographer from both the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) and Professional Photographers of America (PPA).
