Grown ups dress up for Melbourne's sci-fi and pop culture Armageddon Expo

It is Melbourne's very own brand of Halloween, as about 20,000 people attend the Armageddon Expo this weekend.

Many of them were decked out in full costume for the celebration of sci-fi and pop culture at the Melbourne showgrounds.

The expo was in its eighth year and featured characters from TV, movies, cartoons, anime, comics and games and the fans love to participate by dressing up.

More than 40 exhibitors sold collectibles, comics, costumes and other must-have items for the serious "costumer".

Doctor Who and Star Wars were popular and classic characters such as Superman, Superwoman, Batman and Batgirl never go out of style.
