Owner uses pointer power to save her beloved pet dog
A quick-thinking dog owner has used some pointer power to save her beloved pet from being mauled to death by another dog at a beach in Melbourne's south.
Ann Bendouli was walking her one-year-old Jack Russell, Lexy, on Hampton Beach yesterday when a Staffordshire cross terrier bolted at them and bit down on her pup.
After trying in vain to break up the savage attack, Ann had success with just one finger.
That is when Anne intervened using a courageous and unforgettable method. SheShe lifted the Staffy's tail and shoved her finger up its backside.
"It was screaming and I thought I've lost my dog," Ann said.
"She had her upside down and she was shaking. So, I lifted its tail and I put my finger up its anal passage so deep, I felt the flesh."
The stunned dog suddenly let go, but Lexy had been badly mauled and needed emergency treatment.
The Staffy's owner also had half her toe bitten off during the scuffle. She had plastic surgery today. Bayside Council is investigating the fight at the off leash beach.
