Teenager injured in fall down embankment

A teenager has been taken to hospital after he plunged 20 metres down a steep embankment in Melbourne's north-east.

The 14-year-old boy had been playing with friends at Merri Creek when he lost his footing and tumbled down the slope.

Rescue teams placed the injured teenager on a stretcher before using pulleys and ropes to winch him to safety.
