Australian in coma after Bali hit-run accident

A Melbourne man is in an induced coma in a Bali hospital following a hit-run accident.

Nicholas White was riding a motorcycle in Kerobokan on Thursday when he was knocked off by a car, which failed to stop, according to reports.

The 43-year-old, who has lived in Indonesia for two years, suffered severe head, chest and leg injuries and is currently in ICU at Denspasar Hospital.

His family are attempting to raise more than $100,000 to cover the cost of his medical expenses - which are averaging around $2,000 to $3,000 a day.

The family has raised more than almost $36,000 via an online campaign.
