CCTV shows wild brawl at Docklands

A vicious brawl involving up to 40 African men in Docklands has been caught on security cameras.

One man was stabbed to the face with a fork and another was hospitalised with head and spinal injuries.

The fight erupted after the group stepped off a boat cruise in Central Pier.

As the clash splinters, one man swings what appears to be a wild punch, only later is it revealed that he had actually stabbed his victim in the face with a fork.

"Not just punches, there's kicks as well and a weapon," Senior Detective Adrian Smith said. "One person was armed with a fork and that victim sustained puncture wounds to the face."

Nearby, another man drops to the ground after being punched in a separate fight.

"Also, another victim was conveyed to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with injuries to his head and possible spinal injuries," Detective Smith said.

Nearby, nightclub bouncers moved in to calm the situation, preventing one of the brawlers from removing a billboard to use as a weapon.

The men were among 125 passengers on board the Lady Cutler for a private function.

Up to 40 of them were involved in the brawl when the boat docked just before midnight on April 19.

Police arrested and interviewed two men on the night but neither have been charged.

They are appealing for anyone who recognises those in the security footage to come forward.

"We believe some of the people were from interstate and it might have been a territorial issue," Detective Smith said.
