Man pleads guilty to murder of Vic jeweller

A man has pleaded guilty to the murder of a Mornington Peninsula jeweller during an armed robbery.

Dermot O'Toole, a 64 father-of-three, was murdered as he protected his wife Bridget, 63, during an armed robbery at their shop in High Street, Hastings, on Friday July 4.

The man's identity has been suppressed by the court.

Police allege $200 worth of jewellery was stolen during the raid.
