Newtown factory gutted by fire

A man has reportedly suffered burns to his face and arms and firefighters have been treated for heat exhaustion at a massive blaze at a furniture factory in Geelong.

The blaze broke out at Penny's Pine factory on Bridge Road, in Newtown, shortly before 1pm.

Around nine fire trucks and two helicopters were brought in to help bring the massive fire under control.

The man, believed to be a factory worker, was taken to hospital with burns while two firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion, according to reports.

It is believed the fire was started by an angle grinder, according to reports.
