August 1990 - he attempted to rape a 17-year-old girl walking home from a bus stop.
December 1990 - abducted and attempted to rape a teenage hitch hiker.
1991 - pleaded guilty to both offences and was jailed for five years, with minimum of three.
April 1993 - released from jail after serving 22 months.
September 2000 - first of five rapes against five women working as prostitutes in Melbourne's St Kilda red light district.
April 2002 – jailed for 11 years with a minimum of eight after pleading guilty to rapes.
2009 – completed sex offender programme prior to release on parole in 2010.
August 12, 2011 – king hit man in Geelong. He pleaded guilty to assault and was bailed pending appeal against sentence.
September 22, 2012 – while on parole he attacked Jill Meagher as she was walking home.
Jill Meagher history
1990 – Jill first moved to Australia from Drogheda, Ireland, with her family, for her father’s job. She later returned to Ireland with the family.
1991 - She attended St Oliver's and Drogheda Grammar School.
2001- Jill meets Tom on their first day at University College, Dublin.
2008 - Jill McKeon married Tom Meagher in Ireland, 2008.
2009 - Tom and Jill moved to Melbourne.
Crossing paths timeline
September 23 – Jill Meagher disappearance treated as missing persons case. Police release public call for information.
September 24 – Homicide Squad detectives take over the case after Jill’s handbag found.
September 25 – Forensic officers search Meagher home and release CCTV footage of Jill speaking to man in blue hoodie.
September 27 – Bayley arrested in Coburg.
September 28 – Jill Meagher’s body is found. Bayley remanded in custody and charged with murder.
March 12, 2013 – Adrian Bayley pleads not guilty to murder and two of three counts of rape.
April 5 – Adrian Bayley changes plea to guilty.
June 19 - Judgement day for Adrian Bayley as sentence handed down by Supreme Court Judge.
