A horror crash involving two cars and a truck in Melbourne's north-west has claimed a man's life and left a woman seriously injured.
Two cars and a truck towing a trailer collided on the Gisborne-Melton Road at Toolern Vale, 39km north-west of Melbourne's north-west, at around 9am.
An ambulance spokesman said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
It took CFA crews an hour to free a female driver from her car.
The woman, believed to be in her 40s, was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition, an ambulance spokesman said.
It is understood she suffered serious leg injuries, while the truck driver escaped unharmed.
