Seaplane crash lands at Geelong

Three people have been hospitalised after a seaplane crash landed near a beach on the Victorian coast.

Seven News understands the aircraft was returning from a scenic flight when it turned upside down in the water off the shores of Geelong beach, near Cunningham Pier.

The pilot and his passengers, a 63-year-old woman and a 79-year-old man, were taken to the Geelong Hospital and are in a stable condition.

It had initially been reported two of Jackass prankster Bam Margera's entourage were passengers on the flight.

It has since emerged Margera and his crew watched the drama unfold on the foreshore as they reportedly prepared a motorbike stunt.

Margera tweeted shortly after the crash: "Just about to drive a motorbike off a pier & get on a seaplane but the plane just crashed. Jesus Christ."

Jackass is an MTV American series featuring dare-devils performing dangerous stunts.
