How you can help baby Mia
How you can help baby Mia

There has been an overwhelming response to our story last night on baby Mia's cancer journey, with huge support on Facebook.

The 18-month-old baby girl was diagnosed with a one-in-a-million liver cancer, medically dubbed Hepatoblastoma, in September.

Her parents, Jason and Jodi Fletcher, have documented Mia's progress on a special Facebook page, which has attracted a surge in new followers since the story aired.

In less than 24 hours, the story on the Seven News Facebook page has drawn more than 10,000 hits, and hundreds of messages and well wishes.

Doctors say there's a tumour the size of a grapefruit on little Mia's liver.

While chemotherapy has shrunk the 14-centimentre tumour, it's too dangerous to remove, and now more tumours on her lungs are being treated.

With only one in a million children diagnosed with this type of cancer, Mia has a long journey to recovery.

The little girl is expected to spend Christmas at the Royal Children's Hospital.
