Sick mum dies just days before birth of twins

Katherine Dixon with husband Shane O'Brien

A Victorian mum-to-be lost her battle with Cystic Fibrosis, just days before the birth of her 'precious' twin boys.

Katherine Dixon was hoping to meet her sons, Jack and Oliver, who were being carried by a surrogate.

But in a cruel twist of fate, the 30-year-old died after contracting an infection just six days before they were delivered, News Limited reports.

The boys were being carried by Katherine's sister-in-law, Kim Graham, who gave birth on Saturday.

She told News Limited she was humbled to have carried her sister's precious boys.
