Vic woman may deny causing road deaths

A 64-year-old woman has faced court charged with culpable driving over a road crash in regional Victoria that killed four women returning from a line dancing event.

Stawell resident Lorraine Nicholson, who is on bail, is charged with dangerous driving and culpable driving causing the deaths of Elaine Middleton, Margaret Ely, Dianne Barr and Claudia Jackson on May 5 at Navarre.

Nicholson's lawyer Andrew Madden told Ballarat Magistrates court on Friday the matter may proceed to a jury trial.
