Three teenagers have been charged with several offences following an investigation into violent assaults and robberies in Melbourne.
Police arrested the trio on Tuesday and charged two of them on Wednesday following an assault on a 64-year-old man, who was left unconscious at an oval in Sunshine West last week.
A 14-year-old from Deer Park and a 15-year-old Footscray West boy have been charged over the assault.
They are also accused of the attempted theft of a vehicle last Saturday.
A 19-year-old Truganina man has been charged with other offences, including deception and drug possession.
All three will face Melbourne's Children Court and the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
The police gang squad was involved in the operation.
Victoria Police Acting Inspector Alan Rumble said small groups were stealing wallets, mobile phones and vehicles.
"We've been seeing small groups of two or three youths target victims across the south as well as in the northwest," he said.
"This offending has led to serious high-harm offences being committed, which have a significant impact on the community's safety and feelings of safety."
