Victorian taxis and commercial passenger vehicles like Ubers will get $22 million in support to safely ride out the coronavirus pandemic.
The funding announced on Friday will provide more than $6 million to subsidise depot fees and grants of up to $3.5 million for increased cleaning and sanitation, among other measures.
Struggling providers in regional areas get $1 million to ensure vulnerable Victorians maintain access to services.
The package comes on top of previous measures such as including the $1500 coronavirus payment for drivers required to self-isolate.
Public Transport and Roads Minister Ben Carroll said taxis and commercial passenger vehicles are the only means of transport for many Victorians in need to access essential medical care and supplies.
