Vic staff want fossil fuel shares dumped

A giant letter from RMIT University staff has been handed to vice chancellor Martin Bean calling for a divestment of fossil fuel investments.

The letter comes after a petition last year was signed by more than 1000 students also calling for RMIT to dump all investments in the gas, oil and coal industries.

"At RMIT we are committed to the future of our students and that must include doing all we can to make sure they inherit a healthy and safe environment" Professor Robin Goodman said in a statement.
