A Victorian man has been charged after police allegedly discovered weapons and drugs in his car and home.

Police pulled over the 30-year-old man on Bondi Avenue in Frankston on Monday night and allegedly found cash, drugs and a taser in his ute.

They then raided his home on Screen Street, also in Frankston, and found three handguns, one of which was loaded, ammunition, edged weapons, fireworks, a rifle and a commercial quantity of methylamphetamine and 1,4-Butanediol, a GHB alternative.

The man has been charged with firearms possession and drug trafficking, as well as failing to assist police officers.

He was remanded in custody and will front Melbourne Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
