Kmart, Coles, Woolies: Aussie stores doing free delivery during lockdown
With most Victorians essentially house-bound and most retail stores closed, shoppers will have to resort to online shopping to buy their goods and groceries.
Many brands have made this easier and cheaper, offering discounts as the pandemic hits Aussie hip-pockets.
These are all the Australian brands that are offering free delivery on your orders:
Kmart
Kmart is offering free shipping on online orders of over $45, which has been extended until 17 September. The only exception is for large items, like trampolines, furniture or storage units.
The discount retailer is also offering free click & collect for orders over $20. All click and collect services in metropolitan Melbourne will be contactless.
Their physical stores in metro Melbourne remain closed, the discount retailer said in a Facebook post.
Coles
For new customers, deliveries are free if you spend $100 or more.
Free delivery is available on standard deliveries if more than $200 is spent.
Coles expects Victorian shoppers to wear a mask into stores – their staff will be wearing masks, too, it said in a Facebook post.
Woolworths
Your first online shop with Woolworths comes with free next-day delivery, as well as any orders over $300.
Customers who join Woolworths’ Delivery Unlimited service will get unlimited free deliveries for shops over $100.
Officeworks
Officeworks offers free next-day deliveries (for customers in eligible postcodes) for orders over $55.
Orders under $55 have a $5.95 delivery fee, while large items will set you back $39.95.
Click and collect orders are all free.
“If you're shopping for essential work or business supplies, most of our stores remain open,” Officeworks said in a Facebook post.
Store team members will be wearing facebook masks and Victorian customers are asked to also wear a mask when shopping in store.
Target
Orders over $45 will be delivered for free, although large items and gift cards are not included in this.
However, according to Target’s website, this free home delivery is only available until the evening of 31 August.
Melbourne stores will be closing at 11:59pm on Wednesday night.
Myer
According to Myer’s website, some stores in Metro Victoria will be temporarily closed.
In Victoria, click and collect is available only in selected stores, with temporary click and collect booths open between 11am to 4pm. Click and collect will be available through Melbourne City, highpoint, Southland, Doncaster and Northland stores. You can check the Myer store locator to see where your nearest click & collect booth is.
Myer will be offering a reduced delivery fee and a relaxed returns policy during the Victorian shutdown, news.com.au reported.
David Jones
David Jones is currently offering free standard delivery on orders over $50. Orders under $50 will incur a $10 delivery fee.
Click and collect is free on all orders.
Big W
Delivery is free for transactions over $45 on all clothing, footwear and fashion accessories. Bulkier items incur a fee that will be displayed in your shopping cart.
The discount retailer will close 22 Melbourne stores but will continue to provide contactless home delivery and contactless pick-up in-stores.
“As part of the Woolworths Group, BIG W are now strongly encouraging all customers, team members and visitors to wear face coverings when visiting any of our stores in NSW and ACT,” states the Big W website.
