A driver accused of killing four women in a crash in regional Victoria is expected to make her first court appearance on Friday.

The 64-year-old Stawell woman is due to appear in the Ballarat Magistrates Court on Friday, charged with four counts of culpable driving causing death, over a crash in Navarre on May 5.

Four friends - Elaine Middleton, 75, Claudia Jackson, 72, Tess Ely, 74 and Dianne Barr, 64 - were returning home from a line dancing event when a Jeep allegedly T-boned their Kia on an isolated stretch of road.

The women died from internal injuries.

The Stawell woman suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash. She has been bailed to appear in court on Friday for a preliminary hearing.
