Vic crash pilot's family thank responders

The family of a Melbourne pilot killed when his light plane crashed into a suburban street have thanked those who tried to save him.

Father-of-two Anthony Liddell, 50, died when his plane crashed on Scarlet Street at Mordialloc late on Friday afternoon.

"The family of Anthony would like to acknowledge the Scarlet Street residents, and the people who selflessly tried to render help at the crash site, and to thank Anthony's work colleagues ... and of course the fire brigade, police, and ambulance paramedics who worked at, and had to witness the horrific scene," they said in a statement issued by Victoria Police on Tuesday.
