Urgent recall on baby clip which can get caught around a baby's throat

The ACCC has announced an urgent recall for dummy chains after fears they could strangle babies.

The dummy clip and chain which are subject to the recall are sold by Australian company Hallie & Moo and retail starting from $16.95 each.

Dummy chains are designed to attach at one end to a dummy or pacifier and the other end fastens onto clothing to prevent the dummy from falling to the ground when dropped.

The ACCC warns that the Hallie & Moo dummy chain may get caught around an infant/child's throat and pose a strangulation hazard.

According to the 'Consumer Goods (Babies Dummies and Dummy Chains) Safety Standard' dummy chains must be no longer than 22cm from end to end, even when stretched and not including the clip.

No part of the dummy chain should break or separate when pulled.

Consumers who own one of the brands chains are advised to stop using the product immediately, remove it from children and contact Hallie & Moo for a full refund.
