Thousands of union members will march throughout Queensland on Labour Day to raise awareness of the changes they demand within their industries.
In Brisbane, the annual march will start at Spring Hill from 10am on Monday and finish with a family-friendly festival at the Brisbane Showgrounds.
The Queensland Nurses and Midwives' Union's (QNMU) will be among the groups represented and will dedicate its march to claims of understaffing and neglect in Australian aged care facilities.
"The system is failing residents, those who love them and staff alike," QNMU secretary Beth Mohle said.
"It is a perfect example of where change needs to occur.''
The theme of this year's Labour Day is 'Change The Rules' which encourages people to join their industry's union.
Labour Day marches will be held in Mackay, Townsville, Rockhampton and other places around Queensland on Monday.
