Unbelievable lottery result garners thousands of winners
Bizarrely, thousands of people have managed to take home their share of a lottery prize after all picking the same three digits.
The South Carolina Education Lottery, based in the US, said thousands of people successfully put down 3, 3 and 3 on their entries for a three-digit game appropriately named Pick 3 on Saturday.
Pick 3 allows players to pay a certain amount for their entry. This determines their potential winnings.
On this occasion, the lottery said thousands picked the same digits leading the lottery to payout A$3.7 million.
“The triple number combination is hands down the lottery’s most played sequence, with this drawing producing 25 times the number of winners compared to the previous day’s draw,” the lottery said.
People now have 180 days to claim their prize either US$250 or $500.
