Ulrika Jonsson has dismissed men her own age as "pretty f***ing dull" as she joins the cast of reality show Celebs Go Dating for its new series.

The 54-year-old presenter told the Mirror she gave the team behind the show "a little free rein" in terms of the age of the men they could set her up with.

She said: "I guess I’ve been slightly cautious of dating men my age because, from my experience, they seem to come across as pretty f***ing dull. I don’t want dull anymore, I want to have fun."

The star is keen to show that women don't simply cease to be interested in sex once they get past the age of 50.

She added: "I want to try and normalise the fact that women in their fifties are still alive, still viable, still able creatures and members of society who deserve their place just as much. You just have to embrace it and go wild, you only have one life."

Jonsson has been married three times, splitting from husband Brian Monet in 2019 and admitting that they only had sex once in eight years of marriage.

She has since been enjoying the single life after being starved of romance during the lockdowns of 2020, although she confessed she's growing tired of the "disposable world" of apps like Tinder.

"There’s a feeling people are always looking over your shoulder to see what’s next, so it’s a conveyor belt and it’s a numbers game," said Jonsson.
