UK finance minister Javid resigns

Sajid Javid's resignation has distracted from UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson's cabinet reshuffle

Chancellor of the Exchequer Sajid Javid has unexpectedly resigned from British Prime Minister Boris Johnson's government.

Javid resigned during a cabinet reshuffle because he refused to accept Johnson's order to sack his advisers, the BBC quoted sources as saying.

Javid only took over the job in July, after his predecessor Philip Hammond resigned upon Johnson's elevation to prime minister.
