Nine coal miners have been killed after a lift fell down a shaft in a separatist region of eastern Ukraine.
Nineteen others were injured in the accident in Chervonopartisansk, in the Luhansk region, local media reported on Tuesday.
The cause of the accident on Monday evening was said to be due to the tearing of a transport cage's wire rope.
The shaft is barely 2km from the Russian border.
Since 2014, the Luhansk region has been controlled by Russian-allied rebels.
In the fight between the rebels and the Ukrainian government, more than 13,000 people have died, according to UN estimates.
A peace plan has been put on hold.
