Ukraine forces launch 'all-out attack' west of Donetsk

Karlivka (Ukraine) (AFP) - Ukraine's interior ministry on Thursday reported launching "an all-out attack" against pro-Russian rebels who had dug in around the industrial hub of Donetsk and the neighbouring eastern city of Lugansk.

The interior ministry said the military push was launched "across several parts of the front". An AFP team about 30 kilometres (18 miles) west of Donetsk heard echoes of heavy artillery fire around the small village of Karlivka.
