UK weather: What the conditions will be like near you this week
The UK is set to experience heavy rainfall this week, marking the end of the recent warm weather
Blustery gales and heavy downpours are set to continue across the UK in coming days.
The UK's recent mini-heatwave came to an abrupt end on Sunday with downpours nationwide, and more showers and storms have been forecast.
A Met Office forecaster told Yahoo News UK that local flooding is still possible in the worst-hit areas as heavy rain continues. Flooding is possible from rivers and surface water across most parts of England on Wednesday.
Meteorologists have warned there could be widespread travel disruption on Wednesday as a result of heavy rain, with public transport services being affected.
