Motorway submerged and train lines underwater as flash flooding hits UK
Commuters and motorists endured cancellations and huge delays on Friday as more heavy rain left train lines under several inches of water and motorways unuseable due to flash flooding.
Images from Gloucestershire on Friday morning showed an empty section of the M5 motorway, which was left submerged after an intense downfall in the south-west on Thursday.
A number of train lines across England were also affected, with rail services in Shropshire and the West Midlands most affected as some stations and lines were left underwater.
