Two Sydney men charged over rebirthing

Two Sydney men have been charged over the operation of a car rebirthing syndicate which gives stolen cars a new, illegal lease on life.

The two men were arrested and charged earlier this week following a raid in Bringelly in Sydney's west on July 4.

Police seized four cars, believed to have been stolen and rebranded, two dismantled vehicles and 10 engines which had their identification numbers removed.

Following forensic investigation of the seized cars, a 35-year-old man was arrested on September 10 and a 38-year-old man was arrested at Sydney Airport shortly after he got off his flight from Thailand.

The two men have been charged with knowingly facilitating organised car rebirthing along with a series of other related charges.

They were granted conditional bail and are scheduled to appear in Liverpool Local Court on October 1.
