One dead, one in hospital after two men found shot in Sydney Mercedes

A man has been shot dead in Sydney's south and another is in hospital with gunshot wounds.

NSW police responded to reports that shots were fired near a car park in Hurstville about 11pm on Saturday.

When they arrived, officers found two wounded men, 35 and 23, in a Mercedes stopped nearby.

Both were men taken to hospital, where the older man died.

The 23-year-old remains in a stable condition.

Footage purportedly filmed from an apartment above the crime scene shows several police cars and ambulances on the street as police attempt to tape off the scene and control the growing crowd of onlookers.

“Someone just got shot near Hurstville, if anyone is around the area. Be safe,” the caption read, underneath the footage posted to Facebook overnight.

A crime scene has been established, which is being examined by specialist forensic officers.

Police are calling on anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to come forward.
