Two men dead in separate NSW crashes

A man has been killed while crossing a highway in Sydney's southwest.

The 51-year-old was said to be crossing the Hume Highway near Cutler Road, Lansvale, about 7.30pm when he was struck by a sedan. He died at the scene.

The driver of the sedan was taken to Liverpool Hospital for mandatory testing.

Meanwhile, a man has died in the state's north after his ute struck a tree. The accident occurred at 4.50pm on Tuesday at Stoney Chute, about 8km west of Nimbin.

The driver, believed to be a 38-year-old man, died at the scene.
