Two men have been charged with murder following the death of a man who was allegedly stabbed in the head with a garden fork.
The 36-year-old man was found in Rutland Street in Grimsby with serious head injuries at about 6.40pm on Saturday.
He was taken to hospital but died on Monday.
Police described it as “an isolated incident between individuals known to each other”.
Luke Teague, 38, of Runswick Road, Grimsby, and Stephen Beach, 39, of Ashbourne Court, Scunthorpe, have been charged with murder and are due to appear at Grimsby Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
Humberside Police said the victim was found with head wounds “after reportedly being stabbed with a garden fork”.
The force said: “He was taken to hospital and remained in a critical condition, but has today sadly died from his injuries."
The man’s family are being supported by specially trained officers.
Detective chief inspector Christine Calvert said: “Although this was an isolated incident between individuals known to each other, we appreciate such a tragic incident of this nature has caused shock to the local community.
“Our neighbourhood team continue to be on hand to speak to residents about any concerns they may have. We encourage you to speak with these officers.
“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.”
