Two men charged over brawl at NSW oval

Two men have been arrested following a brawl at an oval in suburban Lake Macquarie.

Police were called to Ferris Oval in Charlestown on Tuesday afternoon on reports of people fighting using makeshift weapons. The group scattered when officers arrived.

After reviewing mobile phone footage of the brawl, police arrested two men, aged 19 and 30, and charged them with affray. The 30-year-old is due to appear at Newcastle Local Court on July 19 while the 19-year-old will appear at Belmont Local Court on July 25.
